Extensive public awareness campaign has been launched on Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019, by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in State to ensure that no doubt remains among common people on the Act. In this direction, Union Ministers and Ministers of State will be visiting different districts of Chhattisgarh and will be spreading awareness on CAA. According to programme coordinator Kedarnath Gupta, Babul Supriyo, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change will be visiting Durg-Bhilai on January 14, 2020 to participate in the public awareness campaign for CAA. According to the schedule, Babul Supriyo will depart from Kolkata by a regular flight at 5.30am on Tuesday and reach Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur at 7.30am.
He will be given rousing welcome by BJP party workers and office-bearers at the airport. He will leave from airport premises at 8.30am and reach Bhilai Hotel in Bhilai at 9.45am. At 10.30am he will be visiting Sector-6 to meet the Bengali delegation and other prominent people from the steel township. At 11am he will proceed to join a rally from Gurudwara Chowk at Nandini Road Housing Board which will be followed by photo session with activists and officials in Bhilai Housing Board Kalibari Sabha venue where selfie zones has been created in support of CAA.
At 1pm, Babul Supriyo will be holding meeting to create awareness regarding Citizenship Amendment Act, where he will be addressing officials and guests followed by interaction with media at a press conference at 1.45pm. He will leave for Raipur at 3 pm from Bhilai and thereafter for Kolkata by regular flight at 5pm. On January 19, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Faggan Singh Kulaste will be visiting Kanker district. Gupta informed that apart from Union Ministers and Ministers of State, BJP national office-bearers will also visit various parts of State during the campaign and give detailed information on CAA to generate awareness among people.
