Goutam Banerjee, General Manager, South East Central Railway (SECR), Bilaspur, carried out annual inspection of Tumsar-Gondia-Balaghat rail route of Nagpur Division. During the inspection, the General Manager inspected the major railway bridge on Wainganga river that falls between Tumsar and Mundikota station.
 
At Mundikota station, the General Manager inspected the point and crossing and utilised division track maintenance and ultrasonic machines to inspect the tracks. Later he visited Kachewani station and yard and the adjoining colony and interacted with families of railway persons. The visiting team of Headquarters also inspected the manned level crossing no. 518 located near Kachewani railway station. He also took speed trail on Gangazari-Gondia wherein the GM special ran at 120 kms/hr to test track parameters.
 
At Gondia station, Banerjee inspected the station circulating area, took information about passenger amenities, inspected status of cleanliness, visited the stalls, the Station Manager's office, crew lobby and SPART. The General Manager inaugurated renovated Running Room, Stores cum Service building-DEMU Shed and a new office built for Officers. He also inspected Balaghat stations and also visited the railway colony and saw for himself the facilities provided to railway persons. The General Manager inaugurated a children park at Balaghat. At Tumsar he met public representatives and discussed possibilities of introduction of new passenger amenities. He also accepted a memorandum from the passenger committee.
 
Entries invited for various literary competitions

Abhivyakti Vaidarbhiya Lekhikha Sanstha has organised various literary competitions. The entries can be sent for short story collection, compilation of poetry or a book. All these literature must have been published between January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019. One more head of competition is one act play for 45 minutes and it should hand written and published during same time frame as for other heads. Also there is essay competition on topics Exploitation of Labour Thoughts of Labours about their lives. The essay should be of 1500 words.
 
Another category is write-up of Story of Bravery and it could be hand written or typed and word limit is between 1200 to 1500 words and last is patriotic songs, it should be unpublished and must have 16 to 20 lines. Submission should be hand written and writers must have one copy with them. The envelop must have name, full address and contact details of participants. The write-ups can be sent to Nalini Khedkar, Plot no. 47, Shree Nagar, near Gopal Nagar-Nagpur-440022, or Swati Surgali-kar, ‘Indrayani’, plot no. 132, in front of Sheetala Mata Mandir, Gokulpeth, Nagpur-440010. Entries should reach by February 25 and prizes would be presented on Abhivyakti foundation day.
 
Get-together of journalists on Jan 26

The Annual get-together of journalists and their family members has been organised by Tilak Patrakar Bhavan Trust (TPBT) in association with Nagpur Union of Working Journalists (NUWJ) and Patrakar Club of Nagpur. The programme will be held at Patrakar Club on Nagpur, Swati Bungalow, opposite Institute of Science, Civil Lines on January 26. The event will be held at 6 pm onwards. Meritorious children of journalists, who have scored more than 60 per cent marks in Class 10 and 12 and award winning journalists will be felicitated on the occasion. Award winning journalists and meritorious children should submit the photocopy of their award certificate and marksheet by January 23 at the office of the Trust during working hours.
 
A musical entertainment programme has also been organised at the Press Club Lawns from 6 pm to 9.30 pm to mark the celebration. Those interested in singing during the event should register their names with Deorao Pradhan at Patrakar Bhavan by January 23. The flag hoisting ceremony will take place in the morning at Patrakar Bhavan same day. Pradip Kumar Maitra, President, TPBT, Patrakar Club of Nagpur and Maharashtra Union of Working Journalists; Shirish Borkar, President, NUWJ, General Secretary, TPBT; Brahmashankar Tripathi, General Secretary, NUWJ, Secretary, Press Club; Varsha Bashu, Organising Secretary, NUWJ and other office bearers and members of executive committee of all the three organisations have appealed to all journalists and their family members to attend the programme.
