Around a month since the announcement of Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister, the Nagpur division-level Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) was started in Divisional Commissionerate here on Monday. Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur, inaugurated the office. Ravindra Thakre, District Collector, Nagpur; Vivek Bhimanwar, District Collector, Wardha; Sanjay Dhiware, Deputy Commissioner (General Administration); Milind Salve, Deputy Commissioner; Ramesh Ade, Deputy Commissioner (Supply); Manisha Jaybhaye, Assistant Commissioner; Anant Walaskar, Resident Deputy Collector; Pratap Waghmare and Arvind Selokar, Tehsildar; Sanjay Kathpatal, Naib Tehsildar, and other officers were present prominently on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sanjeev Kumar said that the CMO was started at Nagpur Divisional Commissionerate to redress grievances of the people and also to make the administration people-oriented, transparent, and more efficient.

The grievances of the people, various applications, memorandums, references etc are usually transferred to divisional offices for redressal from CMO in Mumbai. With the CMO becoming functional at division-level, action will be taken at a faster pace. Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister, had made the announcement regarding setting up CMO in every administrative division, and later setting up the office at district level across Maharashtra. In the first phase, CMO has been set up at division-level.

The Nagpur Division CMO will be headed by Sudhakar Telang, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) as ex-officio Officer on Special Duty. Padmashree Tasgaonkar, Naib Tehsildar; Snehal Khawle, Clerk-Typist, and other employees will be attached to the CMO. The people from Nagpur Division may submit their memorandums, applications, references at division-level CMO in Nagpur Divisional Commissionerate near GPO Square, Civil Lines. They will get an acknowledgement on receipt of their applications/memorandums etc. If the action on an application/memorandum is expected to be taken at field level, such application/memorandum will be forwarded to respective office. A monthly report regarding applications/memorandums/references received at CMO, disposal, and pendency will be submitted to the Government on a regular basis.
