It seems that Bhopal has been getting a dubious distinction of becoming a hub of flesh trade as an alleged high-profile sex racket involving women of foreign origin was busted by sleuths of Crime Branch at Airport Road in Gandhi Nagar area in the wee hours of Tuesday. At least seven people, including three foreign women and assistant manager of a nationalised bank, were arrested by the police. In the initial probe it was found that the racket was being operated through WhatsApp as photos of girls were sent to customers for booking. According to Saleem Khan, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch), “we were receiving information from the locals alleging that a high-profile sex racket was being operated in the area in a house taken on rent by a Bengali couple in Rs 11,000 per month from M S Khan of Koh-e-Fiza and they used to call foreign women from countries like Uzbekistan and Nepal.
The Uzbek woman was called to Bhopal on tourist visa for 15 days. Police also sized other objectionable materials and liquor from the house. Acting on a tip-off, regarding visiting of different people a high profile sex racket was busted which was operated in a house at Indra Vihar Colony. A constable in civil uniform was sent as a customer and after confirmation; four women and three men were arrested from the house. Seven persons including two Nepal national women and one Uzbekistan national woman, branch manager of a nationalised bank in Satna was also nabbed in the raid which was conducted on Tuesday around 5 am, added DSP Khan.
Police found that the main accused Sajid Hussain (24) of West Bengal who used to operate sex racket for long in the State capital and would bring girls from different parts of the country for flesh trade. He used to charge Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 from the customers. Sajid has also indulged his wife in the prostitution. From the spot police have nabbed Branch Manager of SBI, Satna, Ram Kishore Meena in a compromising position with a woman who was Uzbekistan national.
The police have also nabbed a youth, a person who used to work as agent dealing in facilitating girls for flesh trade, a girl from West Bengal. After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 4, 5 and 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) and Section 34 (2) of the Excise Act. The action was taken after several complaints were received by the police in the past and based on the complaint raid was conducted. DSP Khan said that more persons involved in the sex racket would be nabbed in the further investigation.
