Dr Mahesh Sinha is new elected President of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Chhattisgarh unit. Five members of Chhattisgarh Medical Council were elected on Friday.
Dr Amit Soni and State President, Dr Hemant Chatterjee from Bilaspur informed that Dr Mahesh Sinha senior most IMA member. His expertise is in the field of health policies and medical education. He has played important role as member of National committee of Anaesthetics. In IMA, Dr Sinha has been a well recognised person in State and in National forum. Dr Sinha has established unique mark among doctors as trustworthy and unbiased policy determiner. IMA Chairman Dr Anil Jain, General Secretary Dr Asha Jain, Hospital Board Chairman Dr Rakesh Gupta and others have extended heartiest congratulations to Dr Sinha on behalf of entire team of IMA.
The Chhattisgarh Medical Council Election 2020 took place on Friday. Counting of votes took place in the Medical College campus. In the process of direct election held for the first time after the formation of the State of Chhattisgarh, 17 candidates were in the fray out of which five candidates who got the highest number of votes were elected. Election officer Dr Surendra Pambhai declared the result of the event on Friday evening.
As per information received from official sources, as on September 2019, out of 9,361 doctors who had obtained membership of Chhattisgarh Council, 2,160 doctors exercised the franchise. Senior Anaesthesia specialist and educationist Dr Mahesh Sinha, Dr Lalit Shah, the country’s senior Urologist and medical law expert, Dr Lalit Shah Ear, Nose Throat specialist and Rakesh Gupta, Chairman of Raipur Hospital Board, A Gynecologist’s body President and General Secretary of Indian Medical Association Dr Asha Jain and Indian Medical Association, Dr Yashwant Chandravanshi, an active member in Student wing, won the election.
Doctor Asha Jain will be the first woman doctor to win elections in Chhattisgarh Medical Council and Yashwant Chandravanshi will be the youngest doctor in Chhattisgarh Medical Council.
In a release issued by the entire team, Dr. Rakesh Gupta has expressed confidence that in the coming days, the Chhattisgarh Medical Council will be able to make radical changes according to the intention of the medical fraternity of the entire Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh Medical Council will be able to get representation to elected representatives in proportion to the number of members.
