“The suspension of accreditation by NABL is a matter of procedural slip ‘not’ on part of Anacon Laboratories Pvt. Ltd and ‘certainly not’ because of any ‘malpractice’ as published in the news,” authorities of Anacon Lab Pvt. Ltd have claimed in response to the news report titled “NABL suspends accreditation of Anacon Labs Pvt. Ltd” published in ‘The Hitavada CityLine, dated January 25, 2020. The response, however, does not deny the fact that the NABL has suspended the accreditation.

Dr S D Garway, Director and Quality Manager of Anacon Laboratories Pvt. Ltd, through a letter has mentioned, “Anacon Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. has been accredited by NABL (Quality Council of India) since 2006 and the present accreditation scope is for over 1200 tests. ... Anacon Laboratories had issued one Test certificate as part of the same scope, for which NABL issued suspension to Anacon Laboratories. As part of NABL policies, suspension is issued only if a recurring problem crops up with a laboratory multiple times in a single year, however such was not the case for Anacon Laboratories, which was a gross injustice inflicted on the laboratory.”

“Anacon Laboratories has already raised this issue of having the same test being still included in other lab’s scope and it’s removal from the Anacon scope as a policy of NABL. Appeal made by Anacon Laboratories is very much into consideration and action from NABL is awaited,” Dr Garway clarifies. Replying to the issue of soil sample testing, Dr Garway claimed it as a gross injustice inflicted on Anacon Laboratories appealed Commissioner, Agriculture Department, Maharashtra State, who took due cognizance of the matter and soil testing, was duly reinstated. Dr Garway further claims, “Anacon Laboratories has never been under any sort of scanner by any authority something evidenced by Commissioner Agriculture Department, Maharashtra State himself.

It has never opted for any subsidy to build facilities for soil analysis. All of infrastructure of Anacon Laboratories for soil testing has been funded entirely by its promoters. No unscrupulous funds have ever been taken by Anacon laboratories. The laboratories never indulged in siphoning and misuse of government funds ever, and is duly committed to not doing the same ever.”
