A 30-year-old man has been arrested by Govindpura police on Monday for stealing copper wire and earthing wire from air conditioner (AC) fitted in State Bank of India near Kasturba Hospital. During further interrogation by police, the accused confessed that due to non-payment of wage for titles fitting and sanitation work did by him around 3-4 months ago at the same bank, he had stolen copper wire and earthing wire from Air conditioner (AC) at Kasturba Nagar branch of bank.
 
Govindpura police said that accused Jitendra Parihar, 30, of Ishwar Nagar (Shahpura) is arrested along with knife from Anna Nagar Square in connection with theft case of copper wire from State Bank of India (SBI), Kasturba Nagar. He had stolen copper wire on January 22 in night. Earlier, Mohan Raikwar (54), staff of the bank, lodged a complaint with Govindpura police, who analysed CCTV camera footage of bank and found Jitendra, who earlier did titles fitting and sanitation work at the bank branch, involved in the burglary. According to the police, Jitendra Parihar, has many criminal cases including included attempt to murder (307 of IPC) in his credit.
 
Realising the seriousness of the theft as it was related to SBI, DIG Irshad Wali had constituted a team led by SP (South) Sampat Upadhyay and ASP Sanjay Sahu. The team collected the CCTV footage and on the basis of team arrested Jitendra Parihar from Anna Nagar Chowk. During interrogation, Jitendra disclosed the police that three-four months ago, he worked in bank for titles fitting and sanitation. His payment was not totally cleared by bank officials and he was in dire need of money. So he committed theft and stole copper wire from the bank’s air conditioner.
