The file is with the Finance Ministry. I hope it will get cleared in a few days,” said Kedar. When asked when would the mega project be completed, Kedar said, “It’s an era of Twenty20. I would love to complete the project by the end of this year.” In the expansion plan, a hockey astro turf, a shooting range, swimming pool are among others, which will be constructed. “I want to make Nagpur a sports hub in central India. For this we will have to develop infrastructure.

The Indoor Hall of Divisional Sports Complex has, in the past, hosted several events which saw several Indian and international stars play in front of a jam packed crowd. Olympian shuttlers Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu participated in the natinal badminton championship while a few matches of Pro Kabaddi League were also held which evoked tremendous response from Nagpurians.

The Complex was also host to Asian School U-18 Badminton Championship which was held in 2018. Apart from sporting events, Indian Road Congress was also held at the sprawling complex. A proposal of youth hostel at the Divisional Sports Complex is also in the pipeline.
