State BJP President and Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh on Thursday informed that Indigo Airlines is starting a regular flight from Jabalpur to Mumbai and Jabalpur to Delhi from March 29. He said after a long time Indigo A320 is going to operate the Airbus, which will be 180 seater. Singh informed that the CEO of Indigo Airlines Rono Dutta has given this information over the telephone. It is notable that on August 1, 2019, Singh met with the CEO and other management officials and had detailed discussions over increasing air connectivity in Jabalpur and its future prospects.
Later, Indigo management was also requested to get the slot at Mumbai airport. On the request and constant communication with Airport Authority of India and Mumbai International Airport Limited the airlines is going to start flight on the said route from March 29. Singh informed that Indigo is going to operate regular A320 aircraft on Jabalpur-Mumbai and Jabalpur-Delhi sectors from March 29, the booking of which has already started from 29 January.
Flight number 6E-5308 which will depart from Mumbai at 3.55 pm will reach Jabalpur at 5.35 pm and flight number 6E-5358 will return from Jabalpur at 6.05 pm and reach Mumbai at 7.45 pm. Flight number 6E-2017 for Delhi will depart from Delhi at 7.00 am and reach Jabalpur at 8.20 am and 6E-2018 will return from 850 pm to reach Delhi at 10:15 am. Singh said after Indigo started the service, about 4 flights will be available from Jabalpur to Delhi regularly and an additional flight to Mumbai. With the commencement of additional service on this route, on one hand the passengers will get additional facility, while passenger fare will also get relief. MP Singh thanked the Indigo CEO Dutta and congratulated the people of Jabalpur for this unprecedented achievement. He said the continuously increasing air service in Jabalpur will prove to be a milestone in the development of not only Jabalpur but of entire Mahakoshal region.
