Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) will organise All India Oriental Conference (AIOC) 2020 on the occasion of Centenary Year of All India Oriental Conference and Golden Jubilee Conference in city from January 10 to 12. AIOC will be inaugurated at the hands of Vice-President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu on January 10 at 10 am at Suresh Bhat Auditorium Reshimbagh. Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of the University, Bhagatsingh Koshyari will preside over.
 
Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray and Chairman of the welcome committee of the convention, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will be the special guests. Addressing the press conference at Hotel Tuli Imperial on Saturday, convenor and KKSU Vice-Chancellor Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi said, “Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu will release 100 books on the occasion of centenary celebrations during the convention ceremony. Alongside, a short documentary film on the topic “All India Convention for Oriental Studies” will be screened during the event.
 
These books based on various research topics such as Literature, Scriptures, Law, Philosophy, Astrology, Yoga, Education, Ayurveda, Architecture, etc., will be released on behalf of KKSU.” The Golden Jubilee Celebration will be inaugurated after the official inauguration of AIOC 2020 at 12 noon. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will be the chief guest for this session, MLA Ashish Jaiswal, MLC Girish Vyas will be the guests of honour.
 
Vice-Chancellor of Vivekanand Vidyapeeth Kolkata, Swami Atmapriyanand. Harishchandra Agarwal, Chief Officer (Post Master General), Postal Dept would also be present to grace the occasion. KKSU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi will chair the session. Prof Varakhedi mentioned, “KKSU confers the Mahakavi Kalidas Sanskritvrati National Awards each year upon Sanskrit Scholars in two separate categories i.e. Senior Sanskrit Scholars and Young Sanskrit Scholars.
 
This year, the award in the Senior Sanskrit Scholars category will be given to Vedvidya Pandit Prof Devisahay Pandey, Ayodhyaand Vedantshastri Prof Kandaddai Ramanujacharya of Hyderabad. Similarly, the award in Young Sanskrit Scholars category will be awarded to Law Scholar Manishastri Dravid of Madras Sanskit College, Chennai. During this programme, A welcome by connoisseurs of Kalidasa Literature Translation Mega Project is in line with the felicitation of the editorial team members who were actively involved in the translation of entire literary works of Kalidas, which has been published by KKSU, will be felicitated by the guests.
 
The members of organising committee of All India Convention for Oriental Studies would also be felicitated. The Chairman of All India Convention for Oriental Studies, Prof Gautam Patel will deliver key note address. General Secretary, Prof Saroja Bhate will also guide.” The concluding ceremony of AIOC 2020 will be held at Suresh Bhat Auditorium January 12 at 11.30 AM. Padmabhushan Dr Vijay Bhatkar will be the chief guest of valedictory function. Renowned scholar of Oriental Studies, Gyanpith awardee Prof Satyavrat Shastri will be the special guest along with Prof R C Sinha, Chairman Indian Council of Philosophical Research. Vice-Chancellor of KKSU, Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi will preside over.
 
Ex-Chairman of the convention along with all executive committee members, Chairman of the convention Prof Gautam Patel, General Secretary Prof Saroja Bhate, Organising Secretary Prof Madhusudan Penna, Registrar Prof Vijay Kumar will also grace the event. Different cultural events will also be held during AIOC 2020 in the three days. Cultural events will be held at Suresh Bhat Auditorium while presentations on research papers, discourses, debate forums, and Kavi sammelan etc will be held various auditoriums in the Hedgewar Bhawan. Organising Secretary Prof Madhusudan Penna has emphasised that students of Oriental Studies should definitely participate in these activities. Registrar Prof Vijay Kumar, Joint Secretary Dr Harekrishna Agasti, Dr Kalapini Agasti, Dr Dinkar Marathe, Dr Parag Joshi and PRO Dr Renuka Bokare were present at the press conference.
