Senior officers pay tributes to cops who succumbed to COVID

Inspector General of Police (Jabalpur Zone), Bhagwat Singh Chouhan and other senior police officers and personnel paid tribute to Inspector Gopal Singh Jaget and ASI, Pancham Singh Markam in a condolence meeting held at Police Parade Ground, on Sunday. On the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Bahuguna, Additional SP (City), Amit Kumar, Additional SP, Agam Jain, Additional SP (Crime), Gopal Khandel, Additional SP (Rural), Shivesh Singh Baghel, CSPs, SDOPs, DSPs and SHOs of urban and rural police stations were present.
 
It may be noted that SHO of Khitola police station, Inspector Gopal Singh Jaget sacrificed his life while rendering dedicated services and succumbed to COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at the hospital, on October 10. Jaget was on duty when he was found to be COVID-19 positive and was undergoing treatment at City Hospital since September 18. Receiving the information, senior police officers reached the hospital and condoled the death of a dedicated police officer.
 
Gopal Singh Jaget (58) was appointed in Madhya Pradesh Police as constable in year 1987 and promoted as Inspector in year 2009. He took charge in Jabalpur in year 2019 and also posted in Chhindwara and Bhopal. Similarly, ASI, Pancham Singh Markam (47), posted at Adhartal police station died after her prolonged illness undergoing treatment at hospital in Nagpur, on Sunday. His last rites were performed at Suhagi crematorium in Adhartal. Senior police officers paid tribute to deceased police officers and assured for providing all necessary assistance to bereaved family members.
