IN A major breakthrough, Unit-IV of Crime Branch arrested two hardcore criminals and seized a sword and 10 other sharp-edged weapons after raiding the house of one of the two accused in Ajni area on Thursday. The accused have been identified as Pratik Sunil Fulzele (21), a resident of Plot No23. Gajanan Nagar, near Omkar Nagar Chowk, and Kartik Ashok Sharma (25), a resident of Plot No 76, Hawrapeth. Accused Kartik Sharma, who is involved in several offences of serious nature, including murder, was wanted by the police.

 

Acting on a tipoff, cops raided Pratik Fulzele’s house and found the weapons. Investigations revealed that Kartik Sharma’s brother Rajat alias Lalla Rajkumar Sharma, who was involved in Vijay Mohod’s murder case, had given the weapons to him to keep the weapons before he was kept in Central Jail. Pratik had kept the weapons in his house. The accused allegedly had plans to commit a major crime by using the weapons.

 

Cops arrested the accused and registered an offence under relevant Sections of the Arms Act and started further investigations. The arrests were made by PI Ashok Meshram, API K V Chougule, API D M Chandan, ASI Ramesh Umathe and others under the supervision of Addl CP (Crime) Sunil Fulari, DCP (Detection) Vivek Masal and ACP (Crime) Sudhir Nandanwar.
