Dr Sanjay Dudhe took the charge of new Pro-Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU). Speaking thereafter, he vowed to make the university student-centric. RTMNU Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhary, Registrar Dr Neeraj Khaty, Director of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Prafulla Sable, Finance and Accounts Officer Dr Raju Hiwase and others were present when Dr Dudhe took the charge.
Head of the Department of Sociology at Taywade College, Koradi, Dr Dudhe was appointed as RTMNU’s new Pro-V-C by Chancellor of the universities Bhagat Singh Koshyari under Section 13 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act 2016. Dr Dudhe also said, “RTMNU would reach a new height under the leadership of Dr Chaudhary. Good changes in the university’s perspective under Dr Chaudhary have become visible. Unlike all other universities, RTMNU showed patience as far as on-line examinations are concerned that started giving results. RTMNU became the first university in State to conduct on-line examinations on its own.” Dr Dudhe, who has worked on several committees, is known for his firmness.
“I am aware of the situation through which the university is going. Everybody is suffering due to coronavirus pandemic but everybody learned a lesson out of it. The university is basically of students. In last so many years these apex institutes have stopped paying attention towards students--their soul. We will make this university, the student-centric one,” promised Dr Dudhe. “The hostels, recreation hall, sports ground, canteens, gyms all are students-related factors. The involvement of students in cultural and sports activities need to be increased. Over the period of years, students in these universities remained largely neglected. We will change the picture,” assured Dr Dudhe.
“The university is rich in every aspect. The person of the eminence of Raobahadur D Laxminarayan has donated huge land to university. Now, it is upto the university to not only maintain it but also utilise it for constructive activities. We have 37 departments, three colleges, over 600 affiliated colleges, about 4 lakh students. We need to promote research by encouraging students. The ranking of University by National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC), National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is to be improved,” expressed Dr Dudhe.
