Rural areas witness zero Covid-19 death, 3 in city

Two auspicious moments - Eid e Milad Un Nabi and Kojagiri or Sharad Pournima both were celebrated on Friday. Eid e Milad Un Nabi is birthday of Prophet Muhammad and Sharad Pournima is the harvest season, also the birthday of Goddess Laxmi. This celebration became more cheerful as Friday brought a good news for the people of Nagpur district as far as coronavirus is concerned. Though even a single death is not good, but reduction in number of deaths is a solace. On Friday, Nagpur district witnessed three deaths in one single day with no Covid death reported in Nagpur rural.
 
With three deaths in one single day, the cumulative deaths reached 2,705. The recovery rate is showing good improvement. National recovery rate is competing with that of the rate of district. National average on Friday stood at 91.15% while district witnessed 92.07% recovery.
 
Number of recovered are below 400 as 381 persons became corona-free. The cumulative recovery reached 87,640. The good number of recovery is leading to reduction in number of active cases. The total active cases registered are 4,436.
On Friday, the new Covid cases came down to below 300 again. Of 290 testing positive for coronavirus in one single day share of city is 210 while 80 persons from Nagpur rural came positive. With these the cumulative positive cases reached 94,599.
 
Number of testing witnessed some reduction in rural and city both. Testing number reduces to three digits from four while there is slight decrease in city’s testing too. In city number of testing reported is 4,280 while in rural 759 samples were examined. The total testing in district registered is 5,039. Of the total testing, 3,555 samples were examined through RT PCR while 1,484 were through Rapid Antigen Test. The cumulative number reached 6,28,768.
 
Apart from the samples of Nagpur district, the people from Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined. The samples came for examination at various laboratories in Nagpur include Virology Laboratory of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) (805), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) (384), Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (155), National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) (75), Centre for Zoonosis, Nagpur Veterinary College affiliated to Maharashtra Animal Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU) (87), Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) (169) private laboratories(1,880), Antigen (1,484).
