Former Judge Vijay Choudhari has been elected unanimously the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council. During the meeting of all 25 members of MPSBC, on Saturday, the members elected Vijay Choudhari uncontested after they consensually promote his name for MPSBC Chairman. This is the first time when any lawyer from the State capital has been elected uncontested in SBC. For the rest of the posts the name will be decided on December 19, 2020.
At present, Vijay Choudhari is the President of Bhopal District Court Bar Association. In 1999, first time he was elected as a member of MPSBC. He is continuously representing the State capital in MPSBC since 2003. Along with this from year 2003 he is working as President of executive body of MPSBC. He has been elected as a Secretary of Bhopal District Court Bar Association for the first time in 1995. Advocate Choudhari has been elected as the President of Bhopal District Court Bar Association for three times.
Top most institute of the Madhya Pradesh Lawyers, Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council organized be regular five year election on 17 and 29 January. After that for the election of 25 members the voting started from February 17 till September 28, 2020. The election organized for the post of Chairman on Saturday, the name of Vijay Choudhari was proposed by senior advocate Manish Datt, who is also the member from Jabalpur and supported by former Chairman Shivendra Upadhyay from Rewa.
After that all other newly elected members elected uncontested Vijay Choudhari as Chairman. Choudhari is the 18th Chairman of MPSBC. Secretary, MPSBC, Prashant Dubey informed that after assuming the office, Choudhary enrolled nearly 400 Advocates and also approved 40 death and medical claims, on Saturday.
