Tourists would now get a chance to see rare wildlife from the loft (machan) in the Pench’s Rough Buffer Forest Range. This opportunity would be available only five days in a month. Pench Park Management has completed preparations for the same.
The Field Director of Pench has informed that the Chief Minister has given instructions to increase various tourism activities in the buffer area of the Tiger Reserve for tourists under the ‘Safar Yojana’.
After discussions with the Forest Minister, Principal Secretary, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Executive Officer of Madhya Pradesh Eco-Tourism Board in this regard, the facility of wildlife viewing is being provided to tourists from the scaffolding in the buffer areas of Pench Tiger Reserve. At present, this facility would be available on two scaffolds of Daldali pond and Dudhiya pond loft. Each month, a maximum of four tourists would be able to sit for four hours each day, half an hour before sunset on each loft, two days before and two days after Poornamasi. With the opening of the boundary of the forest area, the time taken to reach the scaffold and outside would be extra. Tourists would be able to go to the Machan with registered vehicles and guides at a rate of Rs. 1000 per tourist, GST would be extra. Booking via MP online has started from November 26. The full moon of this month is on November 30. Tourists would be able to enjoy wildlife viewing from November 28 to December 2 on the scaffolding. Tourists would experience sitting on the scaffolds to see the wildlife from a few hours before sunset to a few hours in the night.
