Girls of MP Sailing Academy clinch 3 gold, 2 silver in nat’l meet

The players of Madhya Pradesh Water Sailing Academy have bagged three gold and two silver medals at the YAI Senior National Sailing Championship 2020 organised by Yachting Association of India in Mumbai. The competition was held at Indian Naval Watermanship Training Centre, Mumbai, from November 21 to 27. Academy’s star sailor Harshita Tomar clinched a gold medal in the laser radial event. The team of Ekta Yadav and Ritika Dangi won a gold medal in the 49er Fx event of the competition.
 
In 470 mixed class event the duo of academy’s Shraddha Verma and Morena’s Ravindra Sharma bagged a gold medals. Academy’s Uma Chauhan and Sonu Jatav won silver medals in the same category event. Sheetal Verma and Vanshika Parihar clinched a silver medal in the 49er Fx event of the competition. Scindia congratulates girls: Expressing joy over the success of the players, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia has congratulated all the medal winners.
 
Scindia said that she was proud that after COVID-19 this is the first achievement in sports, and that too was brought by girls. Director of DSYW Pawan Kumar Jain too passed on his good wishes to the girl sailors and said that they have brought glory to the state by winning these medals.
