NCW apprises rural women about legal rights during camp

FOLLOWING instructions of National Legal Services Authority (NLSA), New Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (MPSLSA), Jabalpur, National Commission for Women organised a camp ‘Empowering Women Through Legal Awareness’ at village Manjholi, Tehsil Sihora in Jabalpur district under the guidance of Naveen Kumar Saxena, District Judge and Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, on Saturday.
 
During the camp, Sharad Bhamkar, Secretary, M Jilani District Legal Aid Officer informed about constitutional provisions and laws related to women. Likewise, Resource person Advocate Varsha Dubey, Advocate Tulsa Kosta, Anuradha Dewan Administrator of One Stop Centre also described in detail the rights of women in property, labour laws, maternity benefits, equal remuneration, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005, crime against women such as acid attacks, rape, dowry, cruelty by husband, sexual harassment, dowry prohibition act, maintenance of women, feticide, sexual harassment of women at workplace, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, Women’s Health Rights, Child Marriage Prohibition Act etc. On the occasion, Anganwadi Supervisor and Paralegal volunteer Rajkumar Namdev, Ashok Vishwakarma along with a number of women attended the camp.
