Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Nagpur will be focusing on establishing contacts with common public and like-minded people. This is being done with an eye on upcoming graduate’s constituency elections, Municipal Corporation elections and overall building of thought-process among the party workers. Pravin Datke, President of BJP City unit said, “Recently the new body of city unit was declared which was structured so that everybody should have work. With this thought we tried to accommodate all including ex-MLAs, MLCs, ex-corporators, ex-MPs, ex-office-bearers, everybody brought into the special invitees category so that we keep getting their guidance. Some people might have left from the body. But they too would be included soon.” Everybody should be given the work, core committee level, block level, Mandal-level, zone-level everybody will get some or the other work.

“We will have guidance of Nitinji, Devenji. Bawankuleji on several issues who have been entrusted with the responsibility of Vidarbha too,” informed Datke. “We will try to make people aware of what BJP did in all these 15 years. I know we have not done 100% works and nobody can make such a false claims. But BJP has tried to do its best -- roads, lights, water and other basic facilities are provided, we want to take that work to the people,” Datke revealed the plans. Local Self Government is doing several works on daily basis. “The works done at the level of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), at the level of Devenji, at the level of Nitinji in honest way we will take it to the masses.

We honestly feel the people of Nagpur are with BJP because of our connect, our zeal, our responses to them,” affirmed Datke. Arvind Gajbhiye, President of Nagpur district BJP unit, too spoke on the same line. “We have our bodies at the level of Mandal, Taluka and district. We will be conducting training workshops after two months for party workers. Simultaneously after the training workshops, meetings as per the Zilla Parishad circles would be held. We have 116 Panchayat Samitis, 20 Nagar Parishads, Nagar Palikas where we will try to focus our contact who will then go to public. Volunteers are being trained accordingly.” The new body that was declared by Datke is considered as the jumbo one. Some people raised question on it. Datke said there is no need to raise doubts on the new declared body.

“I don’t agree with the name jumbo. We have 128 persons who are ex-corporators, we have ex-Members of Parliament, ex-MLA, MLC. Now if they are not in power, does it mean their utility gets diminished. Not at all. They are our guiding force, we can avail the benefit of their experience they earned. We have Nana Shamkule, Sudharkar Deshmukh, Sudhakar Kohale, Umatai Pimpalkar. How can we forget their contributions. We have to respect them, we can’t ignore them,” explained Datke.

‘We have earned faith of people’ ‘The Hitavada’ asked Pravin Datke, President of BJP City unit, about the response from the people is concerned how would he tackle it when they raise questions about several incomplete works? Datke said, “We have full faith in people of this city. They know what we have done in all these years. We have changed the face of Nagpur that used to be 15 years ago. We are aware that people might give angry reactions at some points which is expected. But we are sure about one thing that we have earned the faith of people of the city. BJP is known as party with difference and we did the honest efforts which no other party has done earlier.”
