Chief Minister attended Shivrinarayan Manas Festival

Asserting that his government is working to establish Ram-Rajya in State which Mahatma Gandhi used to talk about, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the real Ramraj is the one where there is equality, love and brotherhood, there is no fear of anyone. While addressing a huge gathering at Shivrinarayan Manas Festival, held at Shivrinarayan in Janjgir-Champa district, the Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh always had a tradition of worshiping the compassionate Lord Shri Ram. We worship them in both real and formless form. While Goswami Tulsi Das took his true form to the masses, Saint Kabir worshiped the formless form of Rama. The Ramnami community of Chhattisgarh worship Ram in Nirguna form by imprinting the name of Ram on his body. Chief Minister said that Shivrinarayan is the place where Lord Rama arrived during the exile period and Mata Shabri was born.

There are many places from Koriya to Bastar on Shri Ram’s forest route. Of these, 9 places have been identified and are being developed as tourist centres. He said that this is the first phase of the plan that the government has prepared for the Ram Van Gaman Path tourism circuit. He said that Shivrinarayan and the entire Chhattisgarh is the place which has enriched the Indian culture in every era. Lord Rama arrived here in Treta Yuga while Lord Sri Krishna came with Arjun in Dwapar near Raipur. Buddhism had a strong influence here. Nagarjuna, the most important Buddhist saint after Buddha, did penance here in Sirpur. After Nalanda, the largest ancient educational centre of India was located in Sirpur.

The Chief Minister said that Lord Ram has settled in the culture of Chhattisgarh. We remember Rama every moment of sleeping, eating and drinking. They call each other Ram-Ram. The first calculation of the traditional scale of measuring crops also begins with Lord Ram. The Chief Minister said that Shivrinarayan which is associated with Lord Ram will not only be developed as a good tourist pilgrimage but every kind of civic amenities will also be developed here.

On the demand of Shri Ramsundar Das, President of Chhattisgarh Go-Seva Commission and Mahant of Shivrinarayan Math, the Chief Minister announced to establish a 30-bed hospital in Shivrinarayan and organise three-day Manas Gaan Festival. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also felicitated the manas marmagyas by giving them shawls and shreefal at the Manas Festival.
