Special Court of NIA handed over life term to two activists of banned outfit SIMI, Abu Faisal and Ikrar Sheikh, in bank dacoity case. Apart from this, fine of Rs 1,000 has been slapped on each of them. Initially, case was of Dewas district which was transferred to Bhopal by High Court of Jabalpur. Accused are already in jail in connection with Manipuram Gold Dacoity case of Bhopal and other cases.
 
District prosecution officer of Bhopal informed about the case that on August 24, 2009, a case against unidentified men was registered at Vijayaganj Mandi police station of Dewas regarding bank robbery. At 4.30 pm, four persons entered into Bank of India branch of Vijayaganj Mandi and of them, three were wearing monkey cap. All four of them were carrying pistols. They forced bank employees to stand by turning towards wall and took bank manager to strong room and asked him to open it. They looted around Rs 9,62,000 and fled away. Later, STF and ATS Bhopal grilled Abu Faisal, Ikrar Sheikh and others in connection with case related to case number 04/2011. In interrogation, they confessed committing loot in Bank of India in Dewas. After investigation, chargesheet was presented in special court of Dewas. Out of five accused, three were already eliminated in an encounter.
