Energy conservation unit installed at Bhopal Railway Station.

Working towards energy conservation, Bhopal Railway installed 2.5 kw wind solar hybrid system at Bhopal Railway Station that will help produce 500 w electricity from wind and 2 kw units electricity from solar. The system is being installed by General Administration Department at Bhopal Station to complete NGT norms. This is a major step of Railway towards green energy. The system is being installed by private company M/S Enspace energy system, Udaipur. It will cost Rs 4 lakh per unit to the Railway.
The system will help Railways to save 1.5 lakh annually. The cost amount of Railways for this system will be earned within three years. There is also five years warranty for the unit. Officials said that Railway is rigorously working towards clean and green energy with various plans. Railway has also installed solar power plant at several spots. Rooftop solar plant has been installed at stations and trains. About two days back, Bhopal Railway celebrated Energy Conservation Day where they informed to save 1,89,373 unit of electricity during the year cost Rs 15,14,984 by using automated timer circuit in streetlights, high mast light, ovens and compressors.
Vidyut Loco She, Itarsi under Bhopal railway division, is making several efforts towards energy conservation plan under guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Uday Borwanker. In the programme, officials presented the energy conservation plan with power point presentation. Depot In-charge of Electricity Depot informed about several techniques are being used for energy conservation. A rally was also taken out under certain safety norms to motivate people towards energy conservation.
