Bhaiyaji Joshi, Sarkaryawah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will inaugurate the 66th National Convention of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). This is being held after 24 years at Nagpur. The convention will begin on December 25 and will conclude on December 26. Smruti Mandir, Reshimbagh, will be the venue for this historic convention. The two-day convention will be inaugurated on December 25 at 3 pm by Bhaiyaji Joshi. For the first time in the history of ABVP, the convention is being held on virtual platform. This is being done so as to avoid huge gatherings in pandemic times.

The convention will be conducted on-line at over 4,000 locations across the country at a time and will be attended by thousands of student activists. Chhagan Bhai Patel of Gujarat has been appointed as the National President of ABVP for the academic session of 2020-21 and Nidhi Tripathi of Delhi has been appointed as the National General Secretary. Prestigious Yashwantrao Kelkar Youth Award will be conferred to Youth activist Manish Kumar from Vaishali, Bihar, at this convention. Earlier, G Laxman, National Joint Organising Secretary, had released the poster specially made for the national convention to be held in Nagpur.

This convention can be called the smallest as well as largest among all those held in the past. Smallest with regard to the number as in the wake of pandemic, not many volunteers can attend physically. Largest in the sense it is being held on 4,000 locations throughout the country where volunteers in large numbers would participate on-line. The two-day conference will witness the deliberations on various social and educational issues. The convention will also present proposals on the current social, educational and economic situation in the country. This convention will guide the work of the student council. It will be important in terms of organisational development.
