RAIPUR,

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel who was in Delhi discussed about strategies for the farmers of State with senior Congress leaders. Chief Minister Baghel met All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Motilal Vora and other senior Congress party leaders in New Delhi amid farmers from Punjab, Haryana and other states protesting against the Central government.

The party sources claimed that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel led Congress Government in Chhattisgarh is a pro-farmer Government in the country and this Government has taken various welfare decisions for the farmers of State. It was also discussed how to publicise the achievements of Congress Government in Chhattisgarh within two years. The Congress Government in Chhattisgarh is going to complete two years of its rule in the state on December 17 and so Baghel met the senior Congress leaders to chalk out further strategies and set a target for the Congress Government. Baghel also discussed regarding political appointments for remaining posts in boards, corporations and commissions and appointments in the party organisation. Talking to The Hitavada, State Congress Spokesman Vikas Tiwari said that Chief Minister Baghel was on two-day visit to Delhi where he discussed with the senior party leaders regarding political appointments in boards, corporations and commissions and new appointments in the party organisations. Baghel also discussed about effecting changes in the party organisation, he added.

The Congress sources claimed that new president and other party office-bearers would be appointed in District Congress Committees (DCCs) and Block Congress Committees (BCCs) to strengthen the Congress party in the state ahead of 2023 assembly elections. Earlier, Baghel had indicated that after the approval from the Congress high command, political appointments for remaining posts in boards, corporations and commissions would be held. At present, over 70 posts like chairpersons, members and vice chairpersons are still vacant in boards, corporations and commissions. After 23 months of Congress government, only 35 political appointments have been made so far and this has disillusioned some of the Congress leaders who are eagerly waiting to get an appointment. Chief Minister Baghel went to Delhi on Wednesday evening and he returned to Chhattisgarh from Delhi on Thursday evening.
