Coming down heavily on the ruling Congress and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for leveling allegations of miscommunication on the part of the Centre, the Bharatiya Janata Party has asked the Congress to introspect itself. Asking when the ruling Congress Government led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will communicate with the farmers, BJP State President Vishnu Deo Sai said the farmers are being tormented by the State Government. He said will the Chief Minister tell the party high command about his party’s failure in convincing farmers against the farm reforms introduced by the centre despite efforts being made to pollute the atmosphere by telling lies. Sai said the Chief Minister has time for appeasing his party office-bearers by distributing posts in corporations and boards, has time for all kinds of politics to praise party high command but lacks time for hearing the pleas of farmers.

He said the ruling Congress failed in convincing the farmers here because PM Narendra Modi while understanding their woos have made arrangement in recent farm reforms that the farmers will have to be paid within 72 hours of procuring paddy from them. While terming Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who claims himself as farmer friendly and farmers’ benefit as top-priority, as basically anti-farmer, the BJP State President said the farmers are on the path of agitation since long time against state government’s conspiracy to lower their agriculture acreage in the name of girdawari. Sai said in the name of girdawari large scale irregularities have been meted by the State Government but the Chief Minister doesn’t have time to hear the woes of such farmers. The State Government which feigns economic crisis in the name of COVID-19 pandemic, has failed in every front starting from providing a better system for fighting against the pandemic to farmers, women, labourers, youths, etc.

Sai said everywhere the farmers are suffering and none of their demands including increasing paddy procurement centers, distribution of tokens for paddy procurement and those who’re suffering due to untimely rains and impractical government dictats, but there is no one to hear their pleas. When the Chief Minister will solve their problems after giving them a patient hearing, he should inform, asked Sai. It is unfortunate that the ruling Congress government citing excuses like COVID-19 pandemic, leveling allegations on BJP or the center, is trying to hide its shortcomings. The BJP State President alleged that the Chief Minister while leaving for New Delhi for meeting his party high command, claimed his government to be pro-farmer but he should inform his high command that he’s yet to complete the payments he promised under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojna and that is the reason why the state government delayed paddy procurement by a month.
