Energy Minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar declared to review electricity charges. “To control prices, it is necessary to control expenses. Study over management of required funds would be carried out and on analysis, experts’ recommendations would be implemented. If resources would prove insufficient, then prices could be increased,” he added. Minister Tomar was addressing press persons at Shakti Nagar after attending the power companies’ review meeting, on Thursday.

 

Tomar, replying to queries about electricity unit price hike, said that government is sensitive towards the implications of electricity price hike on general public and thus would keep the condition of general customers in the ongoing pandemic era. On the question of continuation of Indira Gandhi Jyoti Yojana, Mthe mnister pointing out the identification of consumers and beneficiaries and said, “we would conduct detailed survey to learn about the actual eligibility of beneficiaries.”

 

Energy Minister, Tomar emphasised on minimising the line losses to keep the electricity price in control while expenses in the companies should be reduced. Assessment of the unnecessary stock in stores of companies is being carried out. Replying to a query about irregularities in Soubhagya Yojana, the minister said that inquiry would be set up in this scheme. He said the 15 month Congress Government in the State has only duped the innocent people of Madhya Pradesh by playing game of false promises.
