LIEUTENANT General Rajesh Rana, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Madhya Bharat Area inaugurated the new building of Military Dental Centre (MDC) to mark the 79th Army Dental Corps Day, on Saturday. Military Dental Centre Jabalpur is an old Army Dental Centre which was established in the year 1942 as a two-chair Dental Centre which has grown progressively to Type-A Dental Centre.
 
The new building project was passed in January 2015. The building boasts an impressive facade based on the latest scale of Army Dental Centre, making it to be one of the largest Type-A Military Dental Centre of the Indian Army. The design was conceptualised to harness maximum natural lighting and to reduce the energy consumption. Lt Gen Rajesh Rana, VSM inaugurated the new building of Military Dental Centre in presence of other senior officers and medical staff. He extended his greetings to all ranks, civilians and families of Army Dental Corps. He also commended the team of Military Dental Centre Jabalpur for the swift shifting of this unit from old to new building without any lag time.
 
On this occasion, he said that, this new infrastructure will help in delivering oral health care in more effective way to keep the soldiers fit and boost their morale. The Commanding Officer of Military Dental Centre, Jabalpur, Colonel M M Goswami, highlighted that the transformation in this present dental centre was done keeping itself abreast with the latest technological advancement in the field of modern dentistry in order to deliver quality oral health care to the soldiers and their dependents.
 
He extended gratitude to Lt Gen Rajesh Rana, VSM, GOC, Madhya Bharat Area, Major General C S Ahlowalia, VSM, MG Medical and Major General S S Kahlon, VSM, COS, Headquarters Madhya Bharat area who have been greatful to Director General Dental Services Lieutenant General, S M Londhe, S M, PHDS, DGDA and Colonel Commandant of Army Dental Corps and Major General, Subrata Roy, Commandant, Dental Advisor, Central Command for their concerned monitoring and guidance.
