Rajendra Diwe, Senior Reporter of ‘The Hitavada’ on Thursday was conferred upon with prestigious ‘Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar’ instituted by Aryabhatt Astronomy Sanstha in a glittering function organised at Hotel Tuli Imperial. Noted ‘Vaastu’ expert Jayram Dhamne was also honoured with ‘Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar’. Noted actress Varsha Usgaonkar presented the awards to the dignitaries from various fields. Apart from these two lifetime achievement awards, many awards in different categories were given to eminent astrologers across the country.
The galaxy of astrologers attended the function included, 21 astrologers from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; 15 astrologers from Maharashtra including cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Solapur, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Sangali, Nagpur and Shegaon. Four from Gujarat; two from Rajashthan, two from Delhi; two from Faridabad, four from Karnataka; three from Uttar Pradesh, etc. Dr Mamata Khandekar was honoured with ‘Best Journalist in Nagpur’ award. Noted social workers Pankaj Sapate, Ramesh Mishra, Devendra Dayare were given ‘Best Social Worker’ award, Dr Anil Vaidya honoured with ‘Best Astrologer’ award, Snehal Joshi with ‘Best Anchor’ award, and Dr Pooja Ghadge received a special award. While delivering her speech Varsha Usgaonkar said, “This programme has India’s renowned astrologers.
I respect their dedication to their subjects. Astrology is very difficult as it has Mathematics involved in it. I am weak in Mathematics. Those whose Mathematics is strong can do astrology. My father was very good in Mathematics. He loved astrology. He took keen interest in the astrology. It was a great moment for me to be here.” Prominent among those who were felicitated with Astronomy awards include: Nine astrologers from Hyderabad city including Dr R Nagabhushanaradhya, Dr C Ramesh Kumar, Dr J Maheshkumar Siddhanath and others were felicitated for their contributions in astrology. Dr N Maheshchandra Rao and Dr Karra Veeabhadram from Hyderabad and Amlapuram from Andhra Pradesh were given awards for their contributions in Palmistry. In all the states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana dominated the function. Dr Anilbhai Joshi and Dr Mangesh R Vaja from Mumbai got the awards for astrology and Vastushastra, respectively.
Dr Arun Unchegaonkar and Shobha Unchegaonkar from Aurangabad got the awards for astrology and Vastu. Dr Awadhesh Kumar Thakur from Jamshedpur got award for astrology; Dr Suresh Kumar Sachdeva from Suratgarh, Rajasthan got award for astrology and Dr Sharaddha Kurumbhatti from Jalgaon Maharashtra got award for numerology. Dr Deepali Santosh Jannu from Pune got the award for Reiki.
