With rise of use in technology, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), too, has come up with a new initiative. It is Google App. Now, the 4 lakh students of University will get every single information starting from their admission to their timetable and result sheet on Google App. Revealing the details, Dr Prafulla Sable, Controller of Examination (CoE) told ‘The Hitavada’, “We have kept Google app ready. Students have to put their details like enrolment number, name of mother after which they will get their every single information from date of admission to timetable, result details etc. Our App is ready. We are waiting for the nod from our Vice-Chancellor.”
In recently concluded meeting of Senate, one of its members Pravin Udapure had moved the proposal of providing all information to students on mobile. His proposal was seconded by all the members with authorities too gave green signal. Udapure has been following this issue since long. This facility will help all the 4 lakh students of Nagpur, Wardha, Gondia, Bhandara. According to Udapure, University holds 1,250 examinations in Summer and 1,000 in winter. The semester system has brought lot of confusion for the students. Failure students have to face more than one examinations.
The time limit for going for revaluation is only of seven days after the declaration of results. Many times information of result reaches students very late and they are not able to apply. There are some cases where students were deprived of examination. In case they get to apply for the next examination they have to pay fine for delay amounting from Rs 1,500 to Rs 14,000. Now these type of students will benefit from the decision of university. Students from rural area will be the bigger beneficiaries of this system. Confirming the development of system through which SMS to be sent to students with the information of timetable, result, Dr Prafulla Sable said, “We will be developing SMS system in a proper way and it will surely benefit students. In most of the cases, it was found students change numbers and university cannot trace them. In that case university will fail to provide details to those students.
To overcome this deficiency, University came up with Google App. We will run SMS as well as App too. In case number is changed the person still can get all the information through google app.” Promarc company that is the backbone of University’s examination section has helped university to prepare the Google App. Once this App is launched by Vice-Chancellor, University that has adopted all the examination reforms will add one more feather in its cap.
