Two month long training programme on ‘Housekeeper cum Cook’ for 27 youths from Kanker district was organised by Sashastra Seema Bal, Bhilai concluded with great display and fanfare. The training programme closing was presided over by John Martin Nelson, Padmashree (Renowned sculptor). In his address Nelson appreciated the two month training imparted to the youths by SSB and AGR Talent Consulting, LLP. He laid special emphasis on the qualities of discipline, honesty and hard work for becoming successful in the field. Nelson also distributed participation certificate and memento to the 27 trainees during the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, V Vikraman, DIG SHQ (Spl Ops) SSB, Bhilai informed that the Housekeeper cum Cook programme is a Civic Action Programme in which a training module has been designed by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
He further added that in this module specialised course has been designed to train rural youths as ‘domestic help’ having multiple skills which would further lead to their placement as ‘domestic help’. Besides arranging classroom, training, boarding and lodging expenses were borne by SSB. The function was also attended by Dr Rajani Nelson, Assistant Director (Education), Swarnjeet Sharma, 2nd In Command, Ramesh Saravat, Deputy Comdt (Commn), Dighade S R, Deputy Comdt, Sandiksha members and other staff of SSB SHQ, Bhilai.
