Ramgarh and Maheshpur would be developed as tourism destinations 
 
As Chhattisgarh government decided to develop a Tourist Circuit on Ram Van Gaman Path (routes taken by Lord Ram during his exile) in Chhattisgarh, Chief Secretary R P Mandal has been on a whirlwind tour of places of religious and historic importance falling on the tourist circuit and have been identified for the beautification. The Chief Secretary on Saturday visited important infrastructures situated in Mahasamund, Baloda-Bazaar Bhatapara and Janjgir-Champa districts.
 
The Chief Secretary asked the officials concerned, accompanied him on the occasion, to develop these places as tourism destination after carrying out required renovation work. The Chief Secretary reached Turuturia and 1000 years old Shiv Mandir in Baloda Bazaar district where he asked the officials for renovation of these ancient structures. He also asked the officials for construction of better roads connecting these places, waiting room and make necessary arrangements for availability of food for tourists coming to these places and arrangements for amusement.
 
The Chief Secretary also directed for developing water front on Mahanadi river in Narayanpur and Balamdehi river near Valmiki Ashram, Turturia. He also stressed on the need for construction of cottages here while appreciating the natural beauty of these locations. Later, the Chief Secretary reached tourist spot Sirpur in Mahasamund district and held a detailed discussion with forest department, tourism and district administration officials on how this place can be made more attractive to increase inflow of tourists. The Chief Secretary performed puja at Siddha Peeth Dakshin Mukhi Bajrang Mandir here. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Rakesh Chaturvedi and Tourism Secretary Anbalgan P were present on the occasion. State Government has decided to develop eight locations in the state believed to be traversed by Lord Ram during his exile as major tourist destinations under a tourism circuit called Ram Van Gaman Path (The route taken by Ram during his exile).
 
The places are to be developed as tourist circuit are Sitamari-Harchowka, Ramgarh, Shivrinarayan, Turturiya, Chandkhuri, Rajim, Sihawa and Jagdalpur. The Chief Secretary also visited Ramgarh and Maheshpur in Surguja district on Sunday. The objective of his visit was to develop these places as tourism destinations. He was accompanied by Surguja Range IG Ratanlal Dangi, Surguja Collector Dr Saransh Mittar and Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Singh. It is to be mentioned, the Chief Secretary had earlier visited Rajim and directed the officials to ensure beautification of Kuleshwar Temple, Rajiv Lochan Temple, and Lomas Rishi Ashram, and also deliberated upon providing various basic facilities there such as drinking water, waiting hall, tourism facilitation center etc. Chief Secretary visited Rajiv Lochan Temple and prayed for peace and prosperity of the state.
