Participants learning about wildlife during the workshop organised at RMNH on the occasion of World Wildlife Day.

On the occasion of World Wildlife Day, under joint aegis of Bhopal Birds Organisation and Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH), Bhopal, a workshop on wildlife conservation was organised on Sunday. In the first session, Dr Sangeeta Rajgeer, Ornithologist, Bhopal Birds, threw light on use of tools used in identifying birds, bird counting, bird watching and more with detailed information about the subject. Participants of the workshop observed many birds in the museum complex.
While the second session was addressed by Dr Sanjay Shukla, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Madhya Pradesh Forest Department. He briefed on methods of wildlife photography and wildlife management. In this session, Dr Sanjay stated about depth, aperture, correct way of photography using different angles, choosing appropriate lens as per angle and shot, use of tools etc.
He gave a presentation on various subjects including calculation of animals of forest, various methods of wildlife management, capture boma technique, technique of calculating number of tigers, water conservation for wildlife in forests and so on. The programme’s last session was addressed by RMNH Scientist-B. Manik Lal Gupta who told participants about importance of their ecosystems, showing rich wildlife museum exhibits. The workshop was attended by 45 participants. At the end of the programme, participants were distributed certificates.
