Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his Government won the confidence motion in Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Tuesday unanimously. Opposition Congress MLAs remained absent from the House. The confidence motion was approved with voice votes. After this, House was adjourned till March 27. Before seeking vote of confidence, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed the assembly over threat posed by coronavirus.

He said that it is the duty of everyone to defeat this pandemic. Positive cases have been detected in Bhopal and Jabalpur. Henceforth, after taking oath of CM post, he went to Vallabh Bhawan and decided to impose curfew at both the places. He stressed that breaking the chain is the only effective measure to prevent corona from spreading. He appealed people to remain inside house to protect them from the disease. Government is making all out efforts to combat against corona, Chouhan said.

He also appealed MLAs to aware people about the disease and assure them that battle against corona will be won but some preventive measures are necessary in this regard. “Some strict steps have to be taken and public support is necessary in this regard,”, he told. He added that fighting against coronavirus is the priority of his Government. “Governor has asked to prove majority within 15 days and we decided why 15 days..by winning the vote of confidence, will get into work to fight corona with full strength,” he told. When confidence motion was moved, Gopal Bhargava told that House unanimously approves the proposal.
