The closed Rural Hospital in Deolapar.

An atmosphere of discontent is prevailing among the people of Deolapar as the Rural Hospital is not functioning, especially when there is a sense of fear among the rural masses and poor tribals. The hospital remained closed on Thursday even after 11.30 am, giving indication where it is working or not. People from 50 to 60 nearby villages are in conctact with Deolapar and was well as this hospital. However, it remained controversial due to negligence of the doctors and Medical Officer.
Moreover, the political leaders have always ignored this point and that is why the officers/staff are serving in this manner. Now, Coronavirus has created terror and it is necessary to admit to a patient having Corona symptons but this hospital reamins closed. What people should do if there is nobody in the OPD of hospital. Medical field is considered to be an essential service.
The board displayed at the hospital appeals to the rural masses not to venture outside of the home to avoid spread of COVID-19. It is learnt that some patients had to return and approach to private doctors for treatment. Pramod Gupta, a resident of Deolapar, went to the hospital but he found gate closed. After enquiries, he came to know Dr Shamim Akhtar, Medical Superintendent, was not available. Similarly, a resident of Mahajan Toal went to hospital on Thursday but it was closed. Dr Paturkar, Civil Surgeon, Nagpur, was not available for comments.
