THAT the Pakistani Army authorities are pushing coronavirus patients into Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) so that the province of Punjab in Pakistan is cleansed of the scourge, is nothing but an expression of dirty minds at work in Islamabad. It is common knowledge that PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan are among the most marginalised areas in Pakistan and the efforts appears obvious to treat those as garbage dumps. Though the authorities are reported to have set up quarantine centres in some places, there is little guarantee that there will be appropriate medicare facilities available in those places, given the manner and method of the Pakistani administration. In the past few decades, the Pakistani authorities have only neglected the areas like PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan and have treated the people there are expendable stuff. Now the media reports have us believe that the Pakistani Army is now pushing victims of coronavirus into PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan. It may be the right time for world bodies to monitor accurately what is happening in Pakistan on coronavirus front.
