‘Me To We’ appeals citizens to use cow dung cakes in Holi

‘Me To We Foundation’, a city NGO has come up with a novel idea of replacing wood with cow dung cake and hawan samagri. The foundation has appealed the citizens to use Cow Dung cakes and Havan Samagri in Holi this year. The theme is ‘Is Baar Holika Dahan Nahi - Holika Hawan Karenge’.

 

 

Me To We Foundation has launched use of Cow Dung Cakes instead of wood. There are many scientific references which shows that use of cow dung cakes, hawan samagri, camphor, cow ghee purifies the atmosphere and helps in minimizing the harmful viruses and microorganisms present in the atmosphere.

 

It is worth mentioning that Nagpur Municipal Corporation has praised and consented to support

the project. The other organisations/associations who are supporting the cause are Lions Club Of Nagpur, Gou Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra, Go Rakshan Sabha, Nagpur branch of Akhil Vishwa Gayatri Pariwar, District Bar Association, Dada Dham, Samarpan Sewa Samiti, Ayush Manufacturers Welfare Association, Nagpur District Chemist & Druggist Association, Dada Dham Vicharpeeth, Sarthak Maharashtriyan Bramhan Udyojak Welfare Mandal, Gujrati Mahila Samaj, Nagpur, JCI Nagpur Pharma, Super 100 Plus Agrawal Club, Vishwa Sindhi Sewa Sangam, Jan Kalyan Bahu Uddeshiya Sanstha, Late Vishwanath Rai Bahu Uddeshiya Sanstha Shabd Sugandh & Pujya Lakadganj Sindhi Panchayat.

 

Chetan Marwah, Secretary informed that it is an routine practice in some cities but there is no such initiative in Nagpur so far. We have roped in Gorakshan Sabha for the supply of dung cakes, along with a few small scale cow rearers, who are ready to deliver the material at home. The interested may contact Go Rakshan Sabha, Wardha Road for the cow dung cakes, he added.
