Taking precaution against coronavirus, screening of passengers arriving at Raja Bhoj Airport has been started but unfortunately Bhopal railway is yet to take such measures.
Thousands of passengers are everyday depart and arrive at Bhopal, Habibganj and other stations. Especially trains coming from Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Kerala cities where corona suspected have been found, passengers should be screened at the station at exit point. On Friday, railway running staff demanded for preventive measures against corona virus. Vice President of AIGC Central Railway tweeted to stop use of bio-metric machine and breathalyser for running staff as it spread the virus hazard. Railway staff demanded to cancel bio-metric attendance at Bhopal, Habibganj, Nishatpura Coach Factory and other railway stations on immediate basis.
Railways staff central organisation All India Railway Mens Federation demanded Railway Board to provide N-95 mask to the employees along with other safety measures.
They said railway frontline staff includes ticket checking, station staff, loco pilot, guard, booking clerks, parcel clerks, EC and RC etc.
AIRF said WHO has declared corona as global health emergency but railway has not taken safety precautions for the same. They said railway should immediately provide N-95 mask to the staff. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’ IA Siddiqui, PRO Bhopal
