But cases in Satranjipura and Mominpura changed the picture in city and Nagpur too started witnessing rise in number of positive cases. Two days ago, six persons tested positive which was a big figure but Sunday proved to be really black for the city as it witnessed 17 COVID-19 positive cases. ‘The Hitavada’ had reported and expressed fear about the persons returned from Markaz can prove costly which is coming true. This is the biggest single day tally of positive patients in the city. Civic administration has sealed Takia Diwanshah, Mominpura, Satranjipura, Hansapuri areas. Though administration has kept mum as far as revealing details of the connection of these patients, the official working in close quarters said ‘off the record’, out of these 17, six persons have Markaz connection and have been under quarantine in MLA hostel, while eight are in isolation wards in Government Medical College and Hospital who have either Mominpura or Satranjipura connection. When a 68-year-old man in Satranjipura who died tested positive, it was predicted it could lead to community spread and now health officials feel that the time has come. He was suffering from pneumonia.

His was the first case which neither had travel history nor any contact with COVID-19 positive or suspects. The total number of positive cases in Nagpur reached 41. There are two patients from Chandrapur - husband and wife who had gone to Indonesia, who too had Markaz connection are under treatment in Nagpur. Out of 41, eight people returned home after they tested negative and one died. It means 32 patients are under treatment excluding two from Chandrapur. Overall it was a good picture in Nagpur but now that is now changed. Out of these 17, eight samples have been examined at newly started laboratory in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Out of those eight two samples have been brought from the persons under quarantine at Central India College owned by Dr Anees Ahmed and six were admitted in isolation wards. Of six, one is from Satranjipura, two are from Mominpura, four are from Welcome Society, Friends Colony, Katol Road, and one from Kamptee. While the remaining six samples were examined at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH). These suspects have been put under quarantine at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). All the six samples were examined in the viral laboratory at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH).

Earlier negative cases now test positive The most dangerous trend being observed in coronavirus cases is the persons put under quarantine at several places tested negative earlier. Now out of them six tested positive. According to some health officials, frontline healthworkers, those who have gone out after they tested negative can test positive now. According to sources, persons released from quarantine needed to be brought back and again examined.
