Despite being single-leg amputee, Kiran Sen from Korba district is serving in Coronavirus Control Room of Railway Hospital, Nagpur
Amid threat of global pandemic COVID-19, a differently-abled daughter of Chhattisgarh is rendering her services at Railway Hospital, Nagpur. Despite being single-leg amputee, Kiran Sen from Korba district of Chhattisgarh is serving in Coronavirus Control Room of Railway Hospital. Kiran, whose left leg was amputated in 2015, is using artificial leg so that she can seve with full dedication.
Talking to The Hitavada, Kiran said that her left leg did not grow properly and therefore doctors had to amputate it. Kiran had completed her BSc Nursing at Government College Jagdalpur and prepared for competition examination. In 2016, she was selected as Nursing Superintendent at Rajim. She then appeared for railway examination and was selected for the post of nursing superintendent at Railway Hospital in Nagpur a month back. Kiran thanked her husband Umashankar for his support. Kiran said that they had love marriage. Kiran also tried her luck in wheelchair basketball but left due to her other responsibilities. She also said that the health staff at railway hospital are being given adequate safety equipment such as N95 Mask and PPE.
