‘City police is confluence of sensibility and discipline’

The idea of feeding people in a scrupulous way was initiated by Dr Nilesh Bharne, Additional Commr of Police 
 
Appreciating the act of Nagpur police who are showing sensibility on one side and taking disciplinary measures, Maharashtra’s Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said, “In the wake of coronavirus outbreak the movement of the citizens is restricted and police is making people to follow the same. Same police has also showed their sensibility as they are running war room through which they are taking efforts so that nobody would remain hungry.” Deshmukh on Tuesday convened a meeting at the guest house of MSEDCL of top cops in Nagpur to review the situation due to coronavirus outbreak.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner of Police Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay, Additional Commissioner of Police Dr Nilesh Bharne, Special Additional General of Police K M Mallikarjun Prasanna, Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kadam and other Deputy Commissioner of Police. Dr Upadhyay appraising Deshmukh informed, “Nagpur Police has started the activity of Covid Yoddha wherein 700 youngsters have registered themselves. They are spreading awareness among masses about coronavirus. In city at 65 places the barricading has been done.
 
The areas like Satranjipura, Bairagipura, Mominpura, Dalalpura, Shantinagar have been sealed completely apart from some parts of Kamptee and Gittikhadan. Covid Yoddha have been appointed at 33 police stations.” Deshmukh lauded the work of police and instructed them to maintain law and order. He boosted their morale and informed them certain measures and modifications that Government has done. Deshmukh personally visited the shelter homes created by Police. The shelter homes he visited on Tuesday include Agrasen bhavan, Ravinagar, Tuli Public School. During his visit Deshmukh interacted with the people staying there. He enquired about their health and arrangements. Everybody in the shelter homes expressed satisfaction over the facilities availed to them by police. Deshmukh appealed them not to leave the shelter home till the end of lockdown. He assured them that Government would take care of them. 
 
Offer Namaz at homes: Anil Deshmukh With Islamic holy month Ramzan is beginning at the end of this month, the Muslim brothers should not gather in public or in Masjid and offer Namaz at homes as a precautionary measure to fight with coronavirus. They should also avoid holding Iftar and other religious programmes, appealed Maharashtra’s Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Deshmukh has also urged Muslim leaders to ask their followers to remain at home. Prayers and gatherings at any religious places are not allowed. Deshmukh has brought to the notice of everybody, Central Government, too, has urged Muslims not to go out for offering Namaz. Several Muslim organisations and clerics have appealed to people to pray at home during Ramzan, which was appreciated by Deshmukh. Last time it was Deshmukh who had swung into action and stopped a group of people who had planned to hold a convention at Vasai.
