Violation of social distancing rule at Dumartarai market; CGYPKS demands probe

Social distancing rules were tossed out of the windows as the Dumartarai wholesale market reopened after the 72-hour long lockdown on April 20. Chhattisgarh Yuva Pragatisheel Kisaan Sangh (CGYPKS) State President Hitesh Varu stated that he had forewarned the administration that as there was a huge rush at the wholesale vegetable/fruits market on April 15, a day before the three day clamp down enforced and the rush will again be witnessed at the end of clampdown.
 
Collector had given permission to open the wholesale vegetable market on April 18 and 19, but didn’t allow the retail sale. As a result, vegetables of farmers got ruined due to absence of any customer at the wholesale market. Thousands of farmers bore heavy loss because of the tampering with a smooth system and the life of thousands were endangered. Kisaan Sangh has demanded a probe in the issue and appealed administration ensure no such incident is repeated in the future.
