Kalamna vegetable market re-opens from today, to function on daily basis

District administration is easing the restriction on functioning of vegetable market at Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Kalamna Yard from April 25 onwards.
 
For Adatiyas (Brokers) and wholesalers there would be happy times again as it would ensure normalcy in the business. Incidentally this is the third time during the lockdown, necessitated due to outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, that the vegetable market will re-open to full normalcy.
 
Nandkishor Gaur, President, Yuva Adatiya Sabji Association, informed that the local authorities has issued permission with new directions to ensure that social distancing is maintained strictly. According to Gaur, total 50 Adatiyas are granted permission for carrying out trading at the Yard with cap of two vehicles.
 
According to the new arrangement 10 Adatiyas are allowed to carry out business at New Grain Marketing building at the APMC Kalamna Market Yard, while at the Vegetable Market Yard building, from shop no 1 to 5 the other 20 Adatiyas will carry out their business, and 20 adatiyas are allotted space at proposed new vegetable market of Yard. The timing of the market will be from 1 am to 7 am for the wholesalers only but Gaur said they have requested administration to increase the time till 9 am. He also informed that all adatiyas will be allotted passes to ensure hassle free entry at Yard while a ban is imposed on two wheelers in the market.
