Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba chaired a video conferencing meeting of all state chief secretaries and other senior officials to review the public health and measures taken towards prevention and control of Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic. Chairing the meeting the Cabinet Secretary asked all states to take all possible action towards prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic. He said that all necessary arrangements required for the health of general public needs to be taken. During the meeting information regarding national immunisation drive and other health programmes being undertaken in State were sought from Secretary (Health). Secretary (Health) Niharika Barik Singh informed during the meeting that there were total 37 cases of COVID-19 positive cases in State, of which five cases are active and are undergoing treatment while the others have recovered and are under home quarantine.
She informed that all necessary measures are effectively being implemented for the prevention and control of Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic in Chhattisgarh. She said that the situation in Chhattisgarh is under control and satisfactory. The Cabinet Secretary stressed upon more and more testing should be carried out and sought information regarding availability of Rapid Testing Kits. He also directed to make arrangements for isolation wards in district hospital, ICU beds and COVID-19 hospitals. He also reviewed the position of ventilators and testing facilities in government and private hospitals for testing COVID-19 cases and directed to prepare an extensive work plan for COVID-19 testing and its subsequent treatment of patients and to execute the same while stressing upon complete coordination with the centre for such execution. Also present during the meeting were DGP D M Awasthi, Secretary (Food) Dr Kamalpreet Singh and other senior officials.
