Singh checks food quality served to needy

MEMBER of Parliament (MP) Rakesh Singh, on Friday visited community kitchen at Jabalpur Municipal Corporation headquarters and took stock of arrangements being made to provide food to poor, destitute and beggars during the lockdown. On the occasion, he directed concerned senior officials to see that no poor would leave without food in the time of crises. He said feeding poor and helpless is a virtuous job and everybody should extend support in the same.
 
Singh also visited community kitchen at Old Bus Stand, Damoh Naka, Vijay Nagar and Bhantalliya and asked officials to provide sufficient and quality food to needy people on time. On the occasion, Municipal Commissioner, Ashish Kumar also asked senior officials to ensure provision of tasty and quality food to poor, needy, beggars and helpless elderly people during the lockdown. He directed officials to shun negligence in the work. Kumar said the civic body is operating community kitchen under Deendayal Rasoi Yojana at Raja Gokuldas Dharmashala.
 
Besides, it has also established central kitchen at all 15 divisional offices of the city. He said the Municipal Corporation is working as per the directions of the Government. Amongst those also present on the occasion were former Minister Sharad Jain, former Mayor Prabhat Sahu, City President of BJP G S Thakur and others.
