Members of Jain community celebrating Mahavir Jayanti

Jain community of Nagpur celebrated Mahavir Jayanti at their home amid lockdown. All Jain organisations followed the instructions of the Government and cancelled all scheduled programmes many days ago. Seers of Jain community appealed community members to celebrate Mahavir Jayanti festival at their home through video conferencing during lockdown.
They also appealed citizens to stay at home and maintain social distancing. Jain Seva Mandal is conducting the festival for last 80 years in the city. Community members celebrated the festival with Puja, Abhishek, hoisting of Jain flag and decorating palanquin of Tirthankar Prabhu. Community people used social media to greet their friends and relatives on this occasion. Nitin Nakhate of Ladpura, Itwari performed Mahavir Janma Kalyanak at their residence. Mahavir Vidhan, Chandraprabhu Vidhan and Shanti Vidhan were also performed during the event.
