MPCB extends validity of consent to operate till September 30

Earlier, the Board extended the period till July 31 due to COVID-19 outbreak 
 
MAHARASHTRA Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has extended the validity period of Consent to Establish and Consent to Operate for industries or establishments who are performing important and essential services till September 30. Previously, the extension was considered till July 31. As per the circular, industries and establishments having consent or authorisation validity up to March 31 and have applied online for its renewal/shall apply before April 30 will be treated up to September 30.
 
Hospital, pharmaceutical units, biomedical waste management facilities, municipal waste management facilities, hazardous waste management facilities, common effluent treatment facilities, power plants, steel plants, mines, milk processing units, food processing units are comes under this extension. Consequent to outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) and declaration of lockdown situation, it is important that critical and essential activities are operate uninterruptedly, so that essential goods and services are available.
 
As per Water (P&CP) Act, 1974 and the Air (P&CP) Act, 1981 all the projects/establishments including building/construction projects/area development projects and townships projects are required to obtain consent as per Section 25 and 26 of Water Act and section 21 of Air Act by paying requisite consent/authorisation fees as decided by the Government/Board. This circular comes into effect from the date of issue and is applicable for the industries as mentioned in the order issued by the Government of India dated March 24, 2020 and by the Government of Maharashtra dated March 25, 2020 and subsequent orders in connection with coronavirus outbreak.
