New Pro-VC vows to streamline exam system
Chancellor of Universities has appointed Dr Subhash Chaudhari as Pro-Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU). Dr Chaudhari is presently working as Principal of J D College of Engineering and Management. While talking to ‘The Hitavada’ Dr Chaudhari said, “My first aim is to focus on making work on-line. Maximum work especially that of examination in university need to be digitalised. Against the backdrop of coronavirus outbreak, world has started initiating several notional things. Traditional universities too should not leave behind.
I am also of the same opinion.” Dr Chaudhari also pointed out that he knew Dr Murlidhar Chandekar, Vice-Chancellor as an initiator and would support in all his projects. He also vowed to continue the projects that were taken up by earlier Pro-Vice-Chancellors. During the tenure of Dr S P Kane as Vice-Chancellor, Dr Vinayak Deshpande was Pro-Vice Chancellor. With the end of tenure of Dr Kane, Dr Deshpande too had to demit his office and post of Pro-Vice Chancellor became vacant. Dr Chaudhari has done BE (Civil) from Nagpur University and post graduation from Amravati.
He is also Ph.D scholar. He has teaching experience of 32 long years. Before taking the charge of Principal at J D College, Dr Chaudhari was the Principal of Vidya Niketan Institute of Engineering and Technology. Dr Chaudhari stated, “State and especially education sector is going through a difficult situation. In the wake of it, I think I got an opportunity where I would have to take some tough decisions.” When asked about the confusion regarding holding examinations of university, Dr Chaudhari said that he would review the situation and then go for final call.
Dr Chaudhari has worked on several prestigious bodies. Several professional bodies have made him member. He is Secretary, ISTE, Maharashtra and Goa section. Apart from these bodies, Dr Chaudhari is on Academic Council of RTMNU, Academic Council Member of Dr B A Technological University of Maharashtra State.
