Friend kills youth in Khapri, arrested

A quarrel broke out between the friends over some issue and in a fit of rage, the accused smashed deceased’s head with a boulder
A youth brutally killed his friend by smashing his head with a boulder in Khapri area of Sonegaon police station on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Sunil Sushil Yadav (32), a resident of Khapri. Sonegaon police have arrested the accused Shashank Mohurle (27), a resident of Khapri, on murder charges. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone I Vivek Masal said that the incident occurred at 1.30 pm when Yadav and Mohurle were sitting near a grocery store in the market area.
A quarrel broke out between the two friends over some issue and they abused each other. In a fit of rage, Mohurle smashed Yadav’s head with a boulder. He fell on the ground in the pool of blood and died on the spot due to severe blood loss.
Staff from Sonegaon police station rushed to the spot and sent the body to hospital for post-mortem. Acting on a tip-off, the police have arrested Mohurle from his house. During interrogation, he confessed for the crime. Yadav was working as labourer and living at a rented accommodation while Mohurle was vegetable vendor said DCP Masal. An offence under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Sonegaon police.
