Different local organisations and individuals came forward to help needy and poor people by providing them food packets and ration kits during lockdown. Many organisations are helping doctors, police and medical staff by providing them PPE kits and other medical equipment. Natraj Niketan Sanstha Natraj Niketan Sanstha and Samved International have started distributing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kit and face shields to police personnel, doctors and medical staff. The distribution of such kits has started in Nagpur, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Hingoli and Satara. Both organisations have also started an awareness campaign on COVID-19 and cleanliness in different parts of Nagpur. They are also distributing food packets and ration kits to needy and poor people amid lockdown.
Mukund Patrikar, Madhura Vyas, Harshada Patrikar and their teams are working hard for the success of the activity. Nagpur City (District) Youth Congress Nagpur City (District) Youth Congress and National Students Union of India (NSUI) jointly conducted a blood donation camp. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray appealed people of Maharashtra to donate blood amid lockdown. Keeping this in mind, the camp was held to provide blood units. About 60 people donated blood in the camp that was held at Medical Square. The event took place by maintaining proper social distancing.
Kunal Raut, Ajit Singh, Nilesh Khorgade, Nishant Lakde, Ashish Mandpe, Pratik Kolhe, Roshan Ruikar, Amit Selokar, Pranay Singh Thakur and others worked hard for the success of the event. Bharatiya Janata Party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) distributed 700 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits to doctors and medical staff of three major hospitals of the city. The distribution took place at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) and Daga Hospital. Instead of celebrating the birthday of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the city unit of BJP decided to distribute PPE kits to doctors and medical staff to mark the event. Gadkari himself appealed BJP leaders and workers not to celebrate his birthday amid situation of crisis.
BJP distributed 300 kits each at GMCH and IGGMCH and 100 kits to Daga Hospital. Dr Vikas Mahatme, Girish Vyas, Anil Sole, Krishna Khopde, Mohan Mate, Devendra Dasture, Kishor Palandurkar, Anand Jain, Vinay Jain, Sunny Jain, Kishor Rathod, Ritesh Pande, Sanjay Wadhwani, Rakesh Gandhi and other leaders and workers were prominently present during the distribution function. Maharashtra State Electricity Workers Federation Maharashtra State Electricity Workers’ Federation distributed 100 ration kits to needy and poor people recently. Amid lockdown, many people are struggling to earn their bread and butter and such activities are helping them to get food.
The ration kit distribution took place at the hands of Energy Minister and Guardian Minister of Nagpur Dr Nitin Raut. The event took place at Martin Nagar Church ground, Martin Nagar, Jaripatka Ring Road. Dilip Dodke, Acting Chief Engineer, Rajesh Ghatole, Executive Engineer, Mohan Sharma and C M Maurya were the guests of the event. P V Naidu, Shrirang Muttepawar, R K Kamlakar, Rajesh Vaile, Pankaj Khode, Roshan Gujar, Sujit Pathak, Nilesh Getme, Swapnil Sakhare, Sunil Padamgirwar, Tarasingh Rathod, Gulshan Panchalwar, Nilesh Admane, Manisha Meshram, Shital Bankar and others worked hard for the event.
