Chief Secretary R P Mandal held a meeting with senior officers at his chamber, Mantralaya, Nava Raipur in Atal Nagar on Thursday to review security of public representatives, political leaders and other eminent personalities. Director General of Police (DGP) D M Awasthi and Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) Dr Anand Chhabra were present. Security related important decisions were taken in the meeting. Chief Secretary Mandal gave various directives to the officials.
 
Meanwhile, DGP Awasthi on Thursday simplified the process of PP Course for Departmental Promotion and directed to start the training from June 1, 2020. DGP Awasthi directed all the Inspectors General and Superintendents of Police (SP) to start giving promotions by completing the PP Course Process in 30 Days. In was also directed that trainees shall be following social distancing and taking necessary precautions while training. In the instruction, DGP said that PP Course was necessary for promotion from the post of Head Constable to ASI and Constable to Head Constable.
 
The Course will be commenced from June 1 and will be completed by June 30 before relieving the trainees to their original unit. The PP Course will be run in the following institutes: PTS Mana-Raipur for Raipur Range, Second Battalion CAF Sakri Bilaspur for Bilaspur Range, PTS Rajnandgaon for Durg Range, APTS Jagdalpur for Bastar Range, and 10th Battalion Siphili Surajpur for Surguja Range ad PTS Mainpath. IGs shall be conducting the PP Course through trainers available in the range.
 
It must be ensured that training is conducted with due process and syllabus. IGs shall be preparing question papers and conduct examinations. They shall also conduct indoor and outdoor training. The personnel receiving training at the PP Course will be under the command of concerned IG, who can use them for urgent duty. Training period shall be increased by just as many days as the trainees were engaged in duty. Under no circumstances, the officers/employees, who fail to physically appear for training, get the promotion.
